April's ramble set off from Denmead to Hambledon with the combined ages of the three walkers (excluding me!) totalling 24. Mary, Michael and Rachel enjoyed the walk in pleasant, but cool weather. We stopped off at The George for our lunch. Unlike March's ramble, we were not turned away, as the hotel was closed! We were joined by my wife for the journey back which included a very steep climb up a hill which the children decided was worth doing several times! The view over Hambledon and surrounding areas was crystal clear, and worth the climb. There were still a few spring bulbs en-route for us to admire as we followed the Wayfarer's Walk back to Denmead. We even heard in the distance a brass band practising "A Whole New World" from Aladdin - they weren't a patch on our youth band!
Whilst it was a pity a few more didn't turn up, it was perhaps understandable considering that the youth and link groups were away, as well as the Pilgrimage to Walsingham. Those that did go thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
