ORDINATION AT PORTSMOUTH CATHEDRAL

Sorry it's been a long time since I last wrote to you all, but Mandy and I have enjoyed seeing many of you when we have visited. We were especially glad to be able to come to the excellent Carol Service before Christmas.

Having been away for nearly two years, the date of my ordination is rapidly looming. For those who don't already know, I am to serve as Curate in the Parishes of All Saints, Botley; St Peter, Curdridge and Holy Cross, Durley - a little way from Waterlooville, but not too far. From mid-June we will be living at 1, Rectory Court, Botley, Southampton, SO30 2SJ (telephone 01489 787715.)

All being well, I am to be ordained Deacon by the Bishop in Portsmouth Cathedral on Saturday 28th June at 6pm and very much hope that friends from St George's will be able to be present. All are welcome to attend the service, and tickets are not needed, although seating is limited, so be sure to arrive in good time.

We have also booked St George's Hall for a celebration afterwards, and would like to invite members of the congregation to join with our families, friends and new parishioners for "drinks and nibbles" from about 8pm. All are welcome (even if you are not able to come to the service), but we would like to know approximate numbers a couple of weeks beforehand. (Ruth has agreed to co-ordinate this - so please tell her if you plan to come.)

Finally, Mandy joins me in sending love to you all. Please remember us in your prayers over the coming months.

With very best wishes.
