It proved to be a very interesting evening when Miss Hardiman, who is a curator at Portsmouth Museum, came to talk to the group about antiques. Members were asked to take along any antiques they thought would be of interest and we had a wide variety of items ranging from a child's high chair dating from the last century, candelabra, jewellery, glassware and old books. We had a diverse array of china and porcelain and Miss Hardiman went into some detail explaining how to differentiate between the different types. She also advised us how to care for items of value. Although she was very knowledgeable and talked about each item in detail she said she was not qualified to give any values.
