OBITUARY

Robbie Roberts

Robbie was a fine Christian. As a boy he sang in the choir of the old Coventry Cathedral. He was for many years a member of the Church of England Men's Society and was involved in its National Committee where he met and knew many English bishops. During the Second World War he served in the Royal Artillery and was captured by the Japanese and spent 3½ years as a prisoner of war. He was to see the dropping of the Atomic Bomb which brought to an end the war in the Far East.

He, and Lily his wife, have recently celebrated 65 years of marriage and have three daughters, a son, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

His final years have been a time of painful illness, all of which he bore with great patience and without complaint.

We thank God for every remembrance of him and commend him to the Lord he loved.

Our sympathy and prayers to Lily and her family in their loss.

Flora Shotter

Flora was a quiet and gentle lady who was devoted to the life of the Church at St George's, which she had worshipped in for nearly 50 years.

She was at one time the Sunday School Superintendent and involved in the production and delivery of the Parish Magazine. A long standing member of the Mothers' Union and involved in all the various activities of the Church.

She suffered greatly from migraine attacks and had weakened her vocal cords which gave her great difficulty in speaking. Her old fashioned handwriting was a joy to see.

She was a fine Christian and a faithful communicant. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
