By popular request in November the Dickensian Singers were invited again this year to sing for us and as this was an open evening many people brought husbands and friends along.
The group consists of six ladies and six gentlemen, their pianist, a soprano and a baritone. The ladies all wore long dresses and some lovely millinery creations.
First of all we were entertained, and invited to sing along with them, songs from around the world, then songs from the sixties and from famous musicals. We had delightful singing from their soprano and baritone, who sang solos and then a duet from Die Fleidermaus. The audience was kept amused with jokes and light banter from their excellent compere.
A lady and gentleman sang an amusing duet from Salad Days and the compere and another gentleman came on in rustic costume to get everyone involved singing Old Macdonald Had a Farm.
It was a lovely evening finishing with coffee and refreshments.A collection was taken and the Dickensian Singers kindly gave the proceeds to charity after taking out their expenses.
