Well, what a lot of Smarties we are at St George's!
Over the last four months we have filled 93 tubes with a variety of coins amounting to £422.88. This, together with donations and the small amount of profit from the original sale of 'Smarties' has resulted in a grand total of £443.43 being donated to the Organ Restoration Fund. (The detailed account is on the notice board in the church hall.)
Many, many thanks for all the support I have received from so many people, from Sunday School members to our more senior citizens. My grandmother was certainly right when she told me, (frequently, as I recall!), "If you take care of the pence, the pounds will take care of themselves!"
If anyone has a fund raising idea which they are keen to try out just let the Fund Raising Committee know and go for it!
