The Quest for Chocolate.
On a spring-like day in the middle of February our party of nine set off from the car park adjacent to Blendworth Church in the direction of Windmill Hill. Because of the recent mild weather, there was not a great deal of mud on route, so this made for pleasant walking conditions.
The early morning fog was reluctant to clear, so the view from the windmill was not as good as could have been.
Our lunch stop was at the Red Lion at Chalton where we were met by Simon and Ian who had decided that they would not get muddy enough merely by walking, and needed to take their mountain bikes out for a spin.
Their journey took them back via Rowlands Castle, via a shop that sold Mars bars, since the Red Lion did not sell them. The nifty nine, however, followed the road out of Chalton towards Blendworth, without the need for a chocolate fix, and back via linking foot paths. The dynamic duo, however, met up with us back at the car park, where they shared a chocolate bar with us, gleefully munching their Mars bars (king size!).
