Car Boot Sale
As usual we had a stall at a car boot sale where the proceeds go towards our charity. This year it was held at a lovely venue in the grounds of Oaklands School on a glorious Sunday morning. After a frenetic half hour when dealers swarmed around us asking prices as we tried to unpack our wares, we settled down to some steady trading. Gradually as the items were sold we topped up from the many boxes we had taken and by the end of the morning, apart from some clothes, we had virtually sold out. We were surprised and delighted to find we had made £121 for this year's charity, the Heart Department, St Mary's Hospital, Portsmouth, which with the money already collected will make a total of £400.
Annual General Meeting
The St George's Ladies Group AGM was held in May when the Chairman reviewed the many interesting meetings which had been held during the year. One evening proved particularly popular when we held a mock auction to raise money for our charity and this will again be included in next year's programme.
Our Chairman, Dianne Woolgar, has just completed her three year term of office, but offered to continue to fill this post and this was unanimously agreed.
