GARDEN GOSSIP

An iron fence has been approved for the Garden of Remembrance behind the church to enclose it, and for security reasons. An anonymous donor has kindly volunteered to pay the £2,560 quoted recently.

Two litter bins from Havant Borough Council have been installed in the churchyard. A 'closure order' for the churchyard is being investigated, whereby possibly Havant Council maintain it themselves, or provide us with a grant to do so.

A new church noticeboard for the front of the churchyard is in hand, and a new one for the outside of the church hall is proposed.

The PCC have agreed to increase church fees by l0%.

Hot water for the Sacristy (and Vicarage) has been approved by the PCC.

A liquor licence is needed in future for any function in the hall where liquor is provided as a result of any payment by the attendees of the function, including wine in raffles. A licence is not required for 'Bring Your Own' parties and it is recommended that church functions follow this line wherever possible.

A pigeon hole system at the back of the church for correspondence was suggested. This is being investigated.

Three sub committees ˜ Pastoral, Finance, and Fabric & Grounds, are being formed to ease the time spent in discussion at the PCC, and for more action!

Minutes of the latest PCC meeting are always at the back of the church for your perusal.
