John Morris
John came from Abadare in South Wales. He served in the Army Medical Corp during World War II in North Africa, and the Sicily landings during which his ship sank, when he turned back for his pipe as it was going down! He went to France for the D Day invasion and then to help survivors in the concentration camps. After the war he continued nursing and became a nursing tutor at Southampton General Hospital where he met his wife Margaret and married in 1963. John had been a regular churchgoer at St Albans Copnor and the Resurrection Cosham in the past and was one of the pilgrims on our Holy Land trip in 1984. Our sympathy to Margaret in her loss. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
