Leslie Hunter
Leslie Hunter was a Yorkshireman and came south after World War II during national service when he met and married Joan Shepherd in 1947. Food was always an important part of Leslie's life and from the army onwards his professional career was with food and the catering industry. He was an excellent cook and very particular about its presentation, as he was about his own appearance. Leslie loved music and had sung in various church choirs. He and his family worshipped at St Jude's Southsea at one time.
He and Joan have worshipped at St George's for some years and they were present only a couple of Sundays before his death at the baptism of Amy Shepherd (infant daughter of Tony and Juliet Shepherd) during the Sunday Eucharist. We send our sympathy and prayers to Joan and her family in their loss. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
