NOVEMBER RAMBLE 'CHIDHAM'

Eleven of us plus two visitors met outside The Old House at Home public house at Chidham. We set off across the fields, this was the coldest part of the walk due to the North wind, once we reached the coast line and took the southerly path it felt much warmer. This part of the coast line was very eroded so great care had to be taken.

After about an hour we stopped near the Point for lunch, no sooner had we sat down the sky cleared and out came the sun, as we were out of the wind it was like a summer's day. With wading birds calling on the mud flats in front of us and Canada Geese in the fields behind, no one could have asked for more. But then low and behold out of the blue came a Spitfire which then started doing aerobatics in front of us bringing back memories of the past for those old enough to remember.

Once finished we headed off for the Northerly leg of the walk, this gave us a beautiful view of the old fishing village of Bosham and its coast line, before we turned inland and headed past Chidham Church to our parked cars.

All participants enjoyed the walk and look forward to the next. No walk is planned for December due to other events, the next ramble will be in January.

Best wishes and God's Blessing to you all.
