REVIEW OF THE REVUE
Not only The Seven Deadly Sins but also...

As you may know, each year we do
A Pantomime or a Revue.
Last year was Rudolph and his nose,
And so this time our Jane she chose
An entertainment based on sins,
And several other juicy things!
We'd wrath and greed and gluttony,
Sloth, lust and pride, and then envy.

Dame Edna

Our Band played the Titanic theme,
And Laura sang "I Dreamed a Dream",
We'd music played on Saxophones,
The beautiful Cello's mellow tones
Piano and Recorder too,
And Clarinets, and dancers, who
Showed us How to Party - me?
I wouldn't have the energy.

Father Malcolm spoke in Rhyme,
With workmen toiling at the time
On perilous ladder doomed to sway
To mend a curtain gone astray.

Have some M'deira M'dear

We'd sketches too, which were great fun.
Flanders and Swann so beautifully done.
We heard about the Porcupine,
Who has many a prickly spine.
(One really should protect one's rear
When ere a Porcupine is near!)

More comedy - the Famous Five,
To find a formula did strive,
But in the end, we all could see
The formula t'was a recipe,
Directions how the Five could bake
An extra yummy chocolate cake.

Reflections on a Ballet Theme
A Song called "Niceness" and we'd even
A monologue about a ship
Whose Captain made a minor slip.
A sketch about an envious pair
Of babes plus one who'd like to share
His toys, if they will be his friend,
So all are happy in the end.

Little Miss Red Riding Hood,
Had an adventure in the wood.
A Wolf for Grandma did mistake
A slightly foolish move to make
A quick escape from Wolfies' tummy
Having made a meal quite scrummy.

A Pantomime was near the end
Snow White and Seven Dwarfs - (well ten!)
And Characters appeared at times
Popped in from other Pantomimes.
We finished with a rousing song
Where all the cast did sing along.
"Did you Hear the People Sing?" and this
Was taken from the Show "Les Mis"!

Our thanks to all behind the scenes,
Who did so well and by no means
Last but not least, the kitchen crew,
Who served the teas and washed up too.
I'm sure you'll think on reading this
Our show just was too good to miss.
And can I say before I go
That we've produced a video.

A video of the 1999 Parish Revue is available, recorded on Sony Tape from the original master in Nicam Stereo. Price £3, profits to the Church.
