Alice Margaret Welford
Alice Welford was born in Cheshire in 1907 into a family of six children, where her father was a solicitor and her mother the daughter of a Methodist Minister.
She graduated from Manchester University with a B.A.degree and when her family moved to Lympstone in Devon on the death of her father, she became a teacher for a time until she eventually became the Regional Organiser of South and West Toc H, and remained with them until her retirement.
She was a committed Christian and regular communicant and much involved with the life of the Church over many years. She became a regular worshipper at St George's when she moved to Waterlooville in the early 90's. She liked and was genuinely interested in people and was greatly respected and loved by all who knew her.
Following the cremation her ashes were taken back to Lympstone where a Requiem Mass was said for her.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
