This took place on Sunday 21st after the A.C.M. Due to weather conditions I did not expect many walkers to arrive at the start. But ten hardy individuals met at St Thomas' car park, Bedhampton, equipped with warm waterproof clothing, "well most did".
It was a five mile walk, last done as the Christian Aid walk in 1998. We set off through the water works and across the fields to the Goodmans factory, then along the river to Langstone Harbour. Turning east we followed the new sea defences until reaching the Bridge Inn by Hayling Bridge, where we stopped for lunch, and sat outside of course.
After a short break of twenty minutes we set off back along the inland route through the fields to Bedhampton and the car park. Glad to say the heavy rain held off, so all the walkers enjoyed the afternoon's exercise. Then we all headed home for the much needed hot cup of tea.
Thanks to all walkers for their support on a cold wet windy day, perhaps next month the sun will smile on us.
