We were fortunate to have a fine day and welcomed friends from many Churches in and around the Waterlooville area. A beautiful banner made by Lillian Streeter of Purbrook Methodist Church was on display, and we thanked her warmly for it and presented her with a plant.
It was a lovely service written by the women of Venezuela, warmed by a huge candle on the chancel steps, and lulled by a beautiful solo from Winifred Mancz called A Touching Place accompanied on the piano by Cecil Wilman.
For those who were unable to be with us, it was interesting to hear about The Rosemary Foundation from our speaker Mrs Julie Cotsell who had previously nursed at Bordean House. At the end of the service we were able to give a donation for this very worthwhile charity.
Thank you for our Afternoon Tea in the Hall. It was much appreciated by everyone.
Bendicion. Dios te Dendiga.
Pam Dinneen
I may never see tomorrow;
There's no written guarantee,
And
things that happened yesterday
Belong to history,
I can't predict the
future,
I cannot change the past,
I have just this present moment,
I
must treat it as my last.
I must use this moment wisely
For it soon will pass away
And
be lost in time forever
As part of yesterday,
I must exercise
compassion,
Help the fallen to their feet,
Be a friend to the
friendless,
Make an empty life complete.
The unkindest thing I do today,
May never be undone,
And
friendships that I fail to win
May nevermore be won,
I may not have
another chance
On bended knees to pray
And thank God with a humble
heart
For giving me this day.
