OBITUARIES

Victoria Townsend

Vickie was in the words of her family "Proud, yet modest, and in some ways rather colonial, she always considered her family first. She was a disciplinarian, with strong views of right and wrong, and duty and manners, yet modernist and a very forward thinking lady." Vickie was a lady who supported many activities in the community: Brown Owl; Guide Captain; P.C.C. Member at Cosham; fund raiser for Dr Barnados; School Governor; British Legion; President of the Conservative Association; Mothers' Union; a member of several working parties; a regular worshipper and faithful communicant and "a dedicated Christian in practice and in deed."

A large congregation gathered for her funeral at St George's and she will be remembered by so many people in so many different ways. We send our sympathy and prayers to her family in their loss. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

David John Goulding

David Goulding served in the Royal Air Force for many years having entered the service as an apprentice electrician at 17. He served at various stations at home and abroad and gained the rank of Chief Technician teaching new recruits on jet aircraft electrics. On leaving the R.A.F. he became a technical author with the Plessey Company until his retirement. We send our sympathy and prayers to Rosemary Goulding and her family in their loss. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
