YOUTH CLUB TRIP TO FORDINGBRIDGE

St MAry's Fordingbridge
St Mary's, Fordingbridge

On Friday 24th May at about 7.pm, the St George's Youth Club set off on our trip to Fordingbridge. We were driving there for about two hours, while we were in the car we went past the New Forest and saw all the horses. When we got to Fordingbridge we unpacked all our stuff out of the cars and took them in the hall. It was about 9.pm when we got there, we went inside, put our stuff down and just had a look around.

Later in the evening we all set out our sleeping bags and beds ready for the night. Later that day we went for a walk around and when we got back we played some games, got ready and had some hot chocolate.

On Saturday we got up, got ready and then had our breakfast. Because there was no toaster or grill to cook the toast on, Jane R-O had to hold the bread over the hob and cook it that way!

Then we drove to Moors Valley Country Park, it didn't take very long. It was brilliant there. When we got there we untied the bikes, got into groups, and chose what bike track we would ride on and went off. I was with Anoushka and Lara. We got lost at first but soon found our way back on the bike track. When everyone arrived back from their bike ride, we all had our lunch in the picnic area.

After lunch we all went on the play trail, that was really fun. It was lots of giant obstacles that you could play on. There were things like a giant magpie, giant snakes and a giant spider, all made out of wood. Half way through the play trail we went on the tree top trail. That was a tall bridge that went over the woods and you could look at the woods and any animals. Then we went back onto the play trail and finished it off.

When we had finished that we were allowed to go and do whatever we wanted. We could go to the gift shop, another bike ride or walk around.

In the evening when we got home we went over to the Gleeb Field and had a barbecue and played rounders. After we had finished we went back to the hall and had hot chocolate and played some games. Afterwards some people went onto the stage and acted out something. Natasha, Claire, Michelle and Bethan did, "I'm a little tea pot". Anoushka and me did an act about a little girl and boy. Tony thought we sounded American but we didn't think we did. And then Chris told some jokes. Then we got ready for bed and went to sleep.

On Sunday we got up early, got ready and had breakfast. Then we went to St Mary's Church just down the road. Before we went we packed all our stuff back into the cars and put the bikes on the trailer so we were ready to leave after church. The church was very different to ours and they welcomed us at the beginning of the service.

After church we sat in the hall for a while and then we set off home. It was not a long journey home compared to when we were on the way there. It always seems shorter on the way back.

We all had a really good time and hope to do it again next year.
