At its meeting on 25th June the PCC discussed the estimates for the two Millennium projects - the Disabled Toilet in the Vestry (£5,862 plus VAT) and the Illuminated Cross (£2,541 plus VAT). Although these were higher than had been budgeted for, it was agreed to proceed with both projects. In addition to this expenditure, it was considered a priority that the paths around the church be made safe. The Fabric Committee was charged with making recommendations for the PCC to consider at an early meeting. Because all the supporting papers had not been seen by all members of the PCC, discussions of Risk Assessment and Child Protection and TRIO (The Responsibility is Ours) were postponed to the September meeting. The Treasurer reported that at the time of the meeting sales of tickets for the Grand Draw were unlikely to yield as much as the Summer Fête, which it replaced this year. The Jubilee Fun Day on 22nd June was deemed an outstanding success (even the weather behaved) and thanks and congratulations were expressed to all involved. It was hoped that the organising committee might offer useful experience to the organisers of a future Summer Fête... A copy of the full minutes is at the back of the church. The next meeting is on 26th September. JAYE WARREN |
