Irene (Rene) Armstrong was born in Portsmouth and lived in her youth with her family who kept the "Black Dog" pub in Fawcett Road. She met and married Harold Armstrong in 1946 and they had two daughters, Margaret and Carol. They came to Waterlooville in 1958 and lived in Alten Road. Sadly, Rene lost her speech five years ago, but she coped well with this difficulty. She was a regular and faithful communicant at the Sunday 8.am Eucharist, and it was only recently that she had to live in a care home. We send our sympathy to her family and prayers for Rene's soul. May she rest in peace and rise in glory. MALCOLM FERRIER |
