As the deadline for the magazine approaches the amount collected for the St George's Day Gift Day so far is £626 and with the tax recoverable under the Gift Aid Scheme this will rise to £785. Our magazine advertisers have contributed a further £201 to church funds and David Palmer's plant and bulb sales another £176. The retiring collection for the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) during April including Lent boxes was £89.81. Looking at the church cheque book, printing of raffle tickets for the Summer Fête cost £44, a regular organ tune £106.34, copier paper £136.98 and the quarterly charge for the photocopier £103.75. A further year's supply of the green weekly planned giving envelopes cost £114.82 and the original BT Vicarage telephone number has been transferred to the new vicarage at a cost of £28.34. I have agreed to take on the role of Parish Legacy Contact Person having attended a seminar on the subject run by the Diocese some months ago. An article about this will appear in a future edition of the magazine and informative leaflets will also be issued. If anyone needs information in the meantime please ask me. Linda Wainwright |
