Sunday 28th November is Advent Sunday. It marks the start of the special season leading up to Christmas. It is a thoughtful time in which we focus on the coming of Jesus. Here are a few ideas to help you this Advent: Using a colouring picture of the Nativity, colour in a section every time you think of someone or do something special for someone. Hopefully, it will have been fully coloured in by the time Christmas comes. Every time you open a window on your Advent Calendar, try to think about a different part of the world and ask for God's blessing on that place and its people. Try to attend a special Advent Carol Service. (St George's has one at 6.pm on Advent Sunday). Now is also the time to choose cards and presents for your friends and family. Homemade items are a delight to receive. Perhaps you could make some cards and gifts? Always ask an adult to help with hot cooking and difficult cutting out. Lynn Winter |
