Letter from St Mary Axim

The following letter has been received from Father Joseph:

Dear Brethren

We thank you for your remittance of three million, six hundred and forty-one thousand and twenty two cedis (c 3,641,022), which has been credited to our accounts since 18 August 2004.

To the Glory of God we are rededicating our church building on the second Saturday in March 2005, in your honour. Nevertheless, there still remains a lot of work to be done. We need to re-skid the floor, cell the roof and wire the building and also need electrical fittings.

Therefore we shall still need assistance as like Oliver Twist who always asked for more. A 'Friday Born' in our church are appealing also to all 'Friday Born' in your church for assistance during our Day Born Harvest due to take place on the 31st October 2004, the proceeds from the harvest would be used for the renovation of the church.

I, the priest, am also a 'Friday Born'. The remittance is to pass through our church savings account no, 059, Ghana Commercial Bank, Axim, but with the specification of 'Friday-Born Harvest'.

Thank you in anticipation.

May God give you added joy.

Yours faithfully,

Rev. Fr. J E Mensah
Priest in Charge.

If you are Friday Born (I can find out this information for you if you are not sure) and would like to respond to St Mary's appeal, please put your gift in an envelope marked 'St Mary's Friday Born Harvest' and either place this in the collection plate or give it to Linda Wainwright or myself. Many thanks.
