Oh! Christmas!

"Christmas is coming", the shops all shout.
"But it's only October - the sun is still out!"

"Christmas is coming", the shops reply,
"But the sun is warm, I don't know why".

"Christmas is coming, you must buy".
"But it's only November, what about the Guy?"

"Christmas is coming, you can't do less,
You must spend and spend, have a new dress".

"Christmas is coming", the Maid whispers low,
"The babe will be born, I've no place to go".

"Christmas is coming, a time of goodwill?
But all the world is fighting still".

"Christmas is coming", the Church whispers low,
"Won't you offer the Babe a place to go?"

"Christmas is here, the Churches will fill,
The fighting stops, we are full of goodwill".

"Christmas is over", the shops all shout,
"Spend, spend, spend, that's what it is about".
