There are two main festivals in May that celebrate the life of our Lord Jesus.

Ascension Day falls this year on Thursday 5 May. Jesus was taken back up to Heaven to be with God. (Don't forget, though, that Jesus promises us that he will always be with us). (Luke 24 v 50-53).

Pentecost falls on Sunday 15 May. Fifty days after Easter we celebrate the giving of the Holy Spirit to Jesus' followers. (Acts 1 v 1-4).

Things to do:

Make a Pentecost Bookmark. Cut out a piece of card the height of this magazine and the width of this column. Trace the Pentecost image onto the card. Colour in the flames with pen, pencil or paint or cut out 'tongues of fire' using different shades of yellow, orange and red paper and sticking them on your Bookmark. Write in the Bible reference too if it helps.
