Our January meetings were both social occasions, the first being a trip to Brighton for "Diamonds" the ice show extravaganza. A chance to see both professional skating and beautiful costumes. The highlight of the show was an acrobatic display by two young ladies on trapeze still wearing ice skates and without a safety net between them and the ice! Our thanks to Anne Reynolds who organized this enjoyable evening. A "Cheese and Wine" with auction was our second meeting. The auction was to raise money towards our "Charity of the Year" which is Naomi House Hospice for Children in the Wessex Area. Relaxing with food and drink, and much laughter during the auction we were able to raise the magnificent sum of £106. A big "thank you" to those who gave things and those who bought them, also to the auctioneer and her assistant. June Bradley |
