From the Editors

Welcome to the second in our new series of St George's News. Did you enjoy the first one? There has been little response so we must presume that you did. If you haven't yet taken out a subscription (£2) for the whole year please see Fiona Ross to settle up.

From time to time we are asked what is the purpose of a magazine. Is it communication or evangelism? Is it for profit or simply to justify a photocopier in church? We believe that it is a bit of everything but the most important thing is that you read it and enjoy it. Do you? Many times we ask someone about an article in the magazine and we find that, despite buying it, the owner has not even opened it!  Perhaps we should put a deliberate mistake somewhere and give a prize to the person who finds it first!

 We hope you enjoy this edition and please give us your feedback and the material to keep St George's News going. Without your articles and letters the magazine would fold. Particularly we would like to hear from anyone who reads our magazine on the Internet.
