Make a Christmas Wreath

You will need:

A wire coat hanger
Old newspaper cut or torn into strips (roughly 5cm in width)
Green crepe paper cut into strips (again rougly 5cm in width)
Sprigs of greenery, eg. fir and holly (you will need an adult to help as both can be difficult to cut and need care)
Garden twine
Sellotape
Scissors
Any decoration required, eg. bow, bells.

Now you are ready to start.

1). Bend the coat hanger in to a round shape. (Fig 1).

2). Wind strips of newspaper around the wire to provide ‘padding’. Secure with sellotape. (Fig 2).

3. You will need to work around the ring several times to provide a secure and even base. (I suggest approximately 5-6 cm in width). (Fig 3).

4. Next wind the strips of crepe paper around the ring securing with sellotape until it is covered. (Fig 4).

5. Arrange and tie pieces of greenery on to the ring using the garden twine. (Fig 5). Take great care with holly.

6). Finish with a bow and/or bells.

7). Hang up and enjoy!
