After a somewhat fraught Sunday morning Eucharist a mother with a somewhat fidgety seven-year-old boy explained how she finally got her son to sit still and be quiet. About half way through the sermon she leaned over and whispered, “If you don’t keep quiet, Father will lose his place and have to start all over again”. It worked!

An elderly woman died. Having never married she requested that there be no male pallbearers. In her hand written instruction for her funeral she had carefully written “They wouldn’t take me out when I was alive, I’m sure not having them take me out when I’m dead!”
