This time, I am dipping in to the new Barnabas Children’s Catalogue. Barnabas is part of the Bible Reading Fellowship. The Barnabas Children’s Bible. Aimed at 8 to 12 year olds, this is the ideal transition from a book of Bible stories to the text and layout of an adult Bible. It is not a direct translation of the whole Bible but the stories chosen retell the main events of the Bible with a continuous thread. This book has over 200 illustrations and an encyclopaedia section at the back to help bring the world of the Bible to life. What’s What in the Bible by Derek Williams. Contains a wealth of fascinating facts about daily life in Bible times, bringing the people of the Bible to life through an exploration of their history and culture. Age range - 7 to 11. Little Elephant (A story about being loved) by Catherine House and Olwyn Whelan. The little elephant, amazed at all the different animals he sees on the land, in the water, and in the air, asks, “Can God love them, wherever they go?” This beautiful story reassures young children that God loves us wherever we are and whatever our situation.
