On Wednesday 16th July St George’s Hall witnessed a fantastic sight as children from Hulbert School visited to show off a grand array of costumes which they had made during school time. The costumes theme was Icarus and the children paraded in the church grounds and among an audience in the hall. The special tea was the idea of the churchwardens from the local Church Kairos partnership and was a great success. Each church provided a share of the tea and the St George’s kitchen was pushed to its limits to provide crockery etc for the occasion. Some wash up afterwards! The great success of this was measured by the many complimentary comments and letters received and this has prompted Churchwardens to organise a similar event next year. Tony Rice-Oxley |
