Mothers' Union Reunion

This photo, taken at the end of August, outside The Mary Sumner House, London, depicts a reunion between Mother's Union representatives [Ports mouth Diocese] and their counterparts from some of their linked dioceses in Nigeria. These include Bishop Matthew Owadayo and his wife Eunice [MU President] of Egba diocese and other ladies from Remo and Lagos dioceses. The group met for midday prayers and then had lunch together. Margaret Symonds first met Bishop and Mrs Owadayo at the Pre- Lambeth meeting in 1998 and in 1999 she and Ann Lawrie [Liss] made a month long visit to all five of the Nigerian Dioceses linked to MU Portsmouth.
