The Parish Church of St George the Martyr, Waterlooville
Our March meeting was a Lenten Meditation, with readings, all were involved, as we followed a journey to Jerusalem, to Calvery, the Tomb and beyond.
In April we recalled “Memories of Easters Past”. Snowy weather and spring flowers, eggs, childhood traditions and Easter Weddings.
Our May meeting was the Mothers’ Union Theme for this year, “Sowing the Future Together” continuing on last year’s Theme of “Helping Us Grow”. We discussed what the MU has meant to us through the years and how we might help to encourage others to join to ensure it can continue its important work in the future.
On 9th April we held a coffee morning in the Church Hall with a Bring and Buy Stall and raffle which raised £36.15. Afterwards we held our AGM which was chaired by Fr Mike.
St George’s MU ladies were invited to a coffee morning at Christchurch, Portsdown on Saturday 3rd May, where we were made very welcome.
There were stalls selling books, plants, homemade cakes and MU merchandise, plus a large raffle.
We drank coffee and ate delicious toasted tea cakes and jam, and came home with a selection of plants, cakes, cards, and I managed to buy yet another bag!
