Women’s World Day of Prayer

Winter and Lent Edition 2010

Every year on the 1st Friday in March, women across the world will be united in prayer; over 3 million will be taking part in a day of prayer that circles the globe from the time the sun rises over the island of Tonga until it finally sets off the coast of Samoa.

The central act of worship will be a service prepared by the women of Cameroon, West Africa. The theme this year is ‘Let Everything that has Breath praise God’. Over 170 countries will be taking part and women, men and young people of all denominations will be welcomed.

St George’s Church here in Waterlooville will be hosting this event for the area on Friday 5th March at 2pm in Church followed by refreshments.
