The Parish Church of St George the Martyr, Waterlooville
On the Sunday after the Music Festival, members of the Committee gathered together for a social event, and the Strawberry Cream Dessert was much enjoyed by all, so the recipe is reproduced below for anyone who might like to try it….
Strawberry Cream Dessert
Serves 4
Ingredients:
200g strawberries, hulled and halved
+ extra for decoration
50g caster sugar
400ml double cream
Method:
1. Place the halved strawberries in a food processor and blitz until smooth. Add the sugar and blitz until the sugar has dissolved. Pass mixture through a fine sieve.
2. Whip the cream to soft peaks and fold into the strawberry puree until incorporated. Fill glass tumblers or dishes with the mixture and decorate with reserved strawberries.
3. Alternatively, double or triple the quantities and put into a large glass bowl for a dessert for more people.
