AFRICAPELLA

CASCADE CHORUS

Africappella is a small and enthusiastic group of singers. Its vocalists come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and share a passion for the spiritual music, rhythms and culture of Africa and the Caribbean, and other music from around the world. Its members meet weekly to celebrate the wonderful harmonies within the music they love, to socialise and have fun together, and to bring these traditional songs to a wider audience.

Cascade Chorus was founded in 2002 and now has over 30 singing members Its vocalists ages range from 25-75+ and all have the same passion for singing. Singing brings them together as they learn new songs under the expert leadership of its musical director Debs Thompson. The choir sings a capella in four part barbershop harmony and it is a member of the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers.  Its varied repertoire covers traditional barbershop, songs from shows, carols and any suitable popular music. Cascade chorus sings regularly in competitions weddings, fetes, charity fund raisers residential and nursing homes.

Cascade Chorus is excited to be putting on its first professional show this spring and is looking forward to taking part in the Waterlooville Music Festival.
