PORTSMOUTH MILITARY WIVES CHOIR

One of the five founder Military Wives Choirs, and probably the most prestigious of them all being based in the UK’s greatest military City of Portsmouth, their hit album In My Dreams shot to No 1 in the UK Charts in 2012.

With around 70 members, the Portsmouth Choir is one of the largest  of over 70 Military Wives Choirs in the UK.

Over the years the Choir has performed at many high profile events, including the 2015 D Day celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall, and some regular venues include The Kings Theatre, Southsea, Worthing Assembly Hall, Romsey Abbey and Guildford Cathedral. The Choir often accompanies the Royal Marines Association Concert Band. Performances have also included television and radio appearances.

The Choir also performs regularly at important events to mark Military commemorations, and Remembrance Day. November 2019 saw the Choir feature at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance and Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of D Day and the Battle of Normandy, at The Point, Eastleigh. (Tickets for that event were £11 - you will not normally get an opportunity to enjoy this fantastic and famous choir for just £6!).

The Portsmouth Military Wives Choir visited Waterlooville Music Festival for the first time in 2018, and the evening was a complete sell-out. We expect the same to happen this year, so strongly recommend that you secure your tickets well in advance.

Wherever you are.
Festival of Remembrance 2011, Royal Albert Hall.

In 2018 the Military Wives Choirs released their latest Album, “Remember” to mark Armed Forces Day 2018.

This commemorative album tells the Military Wives Choirs’ unique story in collaboration with military musicians from across the three services through a combination of exciting new compositions and traditional songs, to mark the centenary of the end of World War I.

The thousand voices appearing on this album represent the families at home and those who served, both then and now.

The album is available from HMV, Independent record stores, and Amazon. Also on Amazon Prime Music.
