August 9th is the day when all Mothers’ Union Branches get together for the day, a number of the Branches went over to the IOW to meet up with other Branches.
Bedhampton branch had invited Mothers’ Union for an afternoon at St Thomas in the Vicarage Garden for a strawberry tea, the weather was hot and sunny to sit in the Vicar’s garden where many branches attended.
A few of us from St Georges Mothers’ Union attended and enjoyed the peace. Also there were tables set out, Sheila King had a table with beautiful cut flowers presented in china cups, a beautiful gift to buy. Norma and Diane were selling asssorted cards on their table. The main table for the party was the Strawberry tea with home made scones with cream and strawberry jam and cakes with a cup of tea to finish.
The afternoon ended with prayers, saying our Mothers’ Union Prayer to finish off the special afternoon.
