A public meeting took place on 30 May to present the revised plans for redevelopment in the town centre, consisting of 264 private rented apartments over 9 floors. The new scheme has moved the 9 storey block further away from the church, and to address the parking issue the scheme now incorporates a multi-storey car park on the site of the existing “Iceland” car park.
The overall design is also a lot more attractive, it does look like a professional architect with some aesthetic skills has been involved this time!
Whether you like it or not is a personal opinion, but the new scheme is an improvement on the previous plans, and what it will replace is a pretty dreadful eyesore….
