Blessing of Animals

Fourteen dogs and one very brave Russian Blue cat brought their owners to the Blessing of the Animals Service on Saturday September 30th. Reverend Liz presided over what was a wonderful, heartfelt service that focused on Thanksgiving for our four-legged friends and prayers asking for God’s help to continue to look after and care for all animals and the environment in which they and we live.

The service culminated with Rev Liz coming around to all the animals to bless them all individually. All were impeccably well behaved with never a cross bark or meow between them.

For those animals who could not attend the service personally their owners brought a photograph of their beloved pets. These included a Syrian Hamster, a cat, a dog and a kitten. All received a blessing.

There were hymns sung throughout the service and the whole atmosphere was one of love and care for our beautiful and very special companions.
