I visited The Waterloo School and celebrated Christingle with the children. Lots of Christingles had been made and we reflected on the Christingle message.

At St. George’s we’ve been busy preparing for the Christingle service on Christmas Eve. I’m sure, as with last year, lots of families, both old and new, are planning to come.

Christmas is all about the children, a phrase I hear every Christmas!

And it’s true!

As with the ultimate gift at High Tide, we are celebrating the ultimate child, Jesus!

A writer said that it was difficult to know who God is but Christ makes God known.

The Christ-child, Jesus, lying in a manger; what can we learn about God from reflecting on this little one?

This month we have been on a journey towards Christmas.

The Toddlers have been to church to hear the Christmas story and to go on a nativity hunt to find all the knitted figures to put in the stable.

The Sunday School have been busy preparing their nativity play. The children will be sharing their endeavours just before Christmas.

The young people have enjoyed meeting up for High Tide. They had lots of fun joining with their friends from other churches for a Christmas themed evening: Love Came Down – unwrapping the ultimate gift – Jesus.  They enjoyed the gift exchange game and a Christmas disco.

Children from Berewood School came and celebrated Carol Concerts over three afternoons in the church. Lots of families enjoyed celebrating Christmas too.

God is a God of love.

God is Love.

During Advent we have had the opportunity to be on a journey of reflection. We have been preparing to recognise the ultimate child, God incarnate, this Christmas.
