March 2026 -BISHOP’S LENT APPEAL
For Lent, Bishop Jonathan invites donations towards good causes each year during Lent. This year the appeal is supporting the same two global charities and one local charity as were supported in 2025.
Tearfund: partners with churches in more than 50 of the world’s poorest countries to tackle poverty and injustice through sustainable development, by responding to disasters and challenging injustice.
USPG: an Anglican mission agency that partners with churches worldwide in God’s mission to enliven faith, strengthen relationships, unlock potential and champion justice.
Vista: offering support to women involved in the sex industry past or present.
April 2026 -THE NEW BLENDWORTH CENTRE
The New Blendworth Centre is a day provision for post 19 year old people with varying degrees of learning difficulties/disabilities. The Centre offers its Service Users a work orientated placement in a semi-sheltered environment, situated in the village of Horndean in Hampshire. The Centre aims to develop and support individual goals, encourage friendships, raise self-esteem and promote confidence and independence. Referrals for placement at the Centre can be made through either your local social services office or by contacting the Centre direct.
Within the Centre grounds there is a small nursery outlet with many poly tunnels and potting sheds which facilitates the Service Users activities. From seed sowing, plant cuttings, potting on, cleaning stock and generally keeping the nursery and its display areas clean and tidy, makes for a busy day at the Centre. The end product of these on-site activities can be purchased by the general public in our nursery shop.
The nursery is open:
Monday to Friday 9.15am - 3.15pm
We are closed on bank holidays and for 1 week over the Christmas period.
During the months of April, May & June the nursery will also be open every Saturday from 10 am - 3 pm.
We really appreciate your support — proceeds from the charity collection will go towards making improvements around the Centre, helping us create a better space for everyone who uses it.
May 2026 -CHRISTIAN AID
Everyone is equal in the sight of God. Yet we live in a world where poverty still persists. Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. But together we have the power to transform lives.
For 80 years, Christian Aid has been standing with the poorest of our neighbours. It works in 29 countries, with people of all faiths and none, to stand up for dignity, equality and justice.
Together we can create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. Our voices and actions are stronger together. And with your help, Christian Aid can make an even bigger difference.
Christian Aid Week runs from 10th to 16th May.
June 2026 -HAMPSHIRE & IOW AIR AMBULANCE
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is the independent Charity that brings an advanced Critical Care Team to the most seriously ill and injured patients in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, giving them the best chance of survival and recovery, when the worst happens.
Using both a helicopter and emergency response vehicle, the Charity brings a team of highly skilled pre-hospital emergency medicine doctors and specialist paramedics to the scene of an incident, effectively bringing the hospital to the patient when time is critical. Called out to an average of four incidents every day, including cardiac arrests, road traffic collisions, falls and assaults, our life-saving service is operational 365 days a year, both day and night.
It currently costs £17,750 a day to maintain our life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of donations that the Air Ambulance can stay flying and saving lives.
